About us
The JAWA CLUB WIEN was founded in 1963 by JAWA enthusiasts in Vienna, Austria. In those days
the Czech JAWA and CZ motorcycles - especially the powerful 2-stroke 250 twinport-singles and
the 350 ccm twins - were excellent and competitive bikes and a lot of titles in roadracing as
well as offroad competitions were won by the members of the JAWA CLUB WIEN.
Unfortunately the manufacturers failed to develop really new concepts - except the offroad
and the speedway bikes - when the motorcycle boom started in the 70's.
The Jawas didn't match the Austrian anti-pollution laws. Therefore and because of the lack of
new bikes the JAWA CLUB WIEN had to change from a pure Jawa-owners club into a motorcycle club
with different brands of bikes.
Actually we are about 45 members, driving as different bikes as BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki,
Yamaha, KTM, Harley-Davidson, Triumph and Ducati, but there are still some JAWA and CZ oldtimers
remaining, kept in driving condition by some enthusiasts.
The members' interests include road racing, enduro riding, trial and touring.
Bikers as well as people interested in bikes are always welcome to visit our meetings.
We come together each Wednesday evening (starting at 8:30 p.m.) at a restaurant named
Schutzhaus am Ameisbach
1140 Wien, Braillegasse 1 - 3
If you ever visit Vienna by bike, don't hesitate to join us, we'll be glad to show you some interesting touring routes!
