It is not yet comprehensible for all of us that Peter Augustin has started for his very last ride.
He has accompanied us for more than thirty years. He set his heart on motorbikes as well as on the people riding.
All those years he was dedicated to our sorrows and problems.
There was not anybody whose requests were ignored, and which is even more, he provided these people with hints and solutions.
He joined our club when we had a difficult time full of problems. With his help a new relaunch could take place.
There are many people who came to see us and finally stayed with us, but nobody left us for his sake.
Captain Peter organized the biggest sporting event in our club history.
Just two years ago, Peter's acquaintances rendered possible the Jawa special contest within the Seiberer Oldtimer Challenge.
Peter was support and soul of our club. The worldwide contacts to all our friends who have found us searching the internet
are due to his work as club secretary.
The tinkering meetings in Peter's garden were legendary and should have taken place more often, but few people
recognized in time the value and irretrievable uniqueness of those peaceful afternoons, when we hung around surrounded by our
toolsets, eating goulash out of a copper kettle, having enough drinking and good talks...
"You can't buy courage" he often used to speak. So was his attitude to life, so he became our archetype -
not only referring to motorcyle sports, as he always proved.
He dealt with his malignant disease in an exemplary way. Unfortunately, there was no winning in his last race.
Since Peter has gone, a gap is remaining which cannot be filled, a gap which will always remind us of him.
Dear Peter,
You often rode as the first showing us the way.
In our thoughts you will always be with us on our future rides.
Anticipating our final destination, it is consolation to know you are already there.
